The terms that apply to this website and to orders placed with us.
About these terms
These terms apply to your use of this website and to orders placed with Holy Cakes Cafe. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them.
A quote request is not an order
Submitting the contact form sends us a quote request. It does not reserve your date and it does not create an order. An order exists only once we have confirmed it with you in writing and received your deposit.
Custom orders, lead times, and deposits
- Custom cake orders need at least 3 to 5 business days’ notice, and wedding orders need at least one month’s notice.
- We take a 50% deposit when you book. It holds your date and covers ingredients and reserved production time, and it is non-refundable. The remaining 50% is due before pickup.
- Design changes may affect the price, and may not be possible close to your event date.
Cancellations and changes
Tell us as soon as you can if you need to cancel or change an order. The deposit is non-refundable. Because we buy fresh ingredients for every order, there is a cutoff for changes, and we will tell you that date before you pay the deposit. As a guide, it is 2 to 3 days before pickup for a custom cake and 2 weeks before the event for larger orders. If you need to move your date before the cutoff, we can often apply your deposit to the new date. If you have already paid the balance and need to cancel, contact us and we will tell you what we can refund.
Allergens and food safety
Please read this if you or a guest has a food allergy. Our kitchen handles common allergens, including wheat, eggs, dairy, and tree nuts, and the same equipment and surfaces are used for everything we make. Because we cannot rule out cross-contact, we cannot accommodate food allergies at this time, and we cannot guarantee that any item is free from any allergen.
We can work with dietary restrictions. Tell us what you need when you request a quote, and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
Our products are perishable. Please follow the storage and serving guidance we give you at pickup or delivery.
Pricing and payment
Prices shown on this site are a guide and may change. The price for a custom order is the one stated in your written quote. Minnesota sales tax will be added where it applies. We accept cash and card; card payments are made by invoice through Chase.
Pickup and delivery
Pickup is by appointment in Eden Prairie. Delivery is $10 plus mileage from Eden Prairie, and we include it in your quote. Responsibility for an order passes to you when it is collected, or on delivery to the address you give us. Once a cake has been moved by you or by a third party, we cannot be responsible for damage to it.
Photographs of your order
We may photograph what we make and use those photographs to show our work, including on this website and on social media. Tell us before your event if you would rather we did not, and we will not.
Website content
The text, photographs, and designs on this site belong to Holy Cakes Cafe and may not be reproduced commercially without permission. Any reference image you send us remains yours; by sending it you confirm you have the right to share it with us for the purpose of designing your order.
Limits on our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, and so far as the law allows, our responsibility in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
